What is Roots to Routes?

It is a Scholarship Entrepreneurship Project 100% and funded by the European Union, for women and migrant and refugee individuals who wish to develop an entrepreneurship project in rural areas.

The programme champions a new narrative of rural life, fostering entrepreneurial talent. We believe that anyone with the desire to start a business can build a successful one and make a positive impact., regardless of genre, origin, or provenance.

We are looking for people with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to start or strengthen a business in rural areas of Spain or Italy.. This programme is designed specifically for:

  • Women entrepreneurs who are looking to lead sustainable projects.
  • Migrant and refugee persons who wish to build their professional future by leading their own projects.

  • Vulnerable groups of any age who need tools to start a business.

You will learn through an online platform that will guide you step-by-step to validate your business..

  • 8 Training modulesA structured tour for creating your own Business Plan.
  • Mentoring and masterclassesIncludes 10 hours of personalised 1:1 mentoring and 8 live 2-hour sessions with experts.
  • Multilingual: The entire programme is available on Spanish and Italian, and the downloadable materials also in English..
  • 100% FundedFree access as it is a project supported by the European Union.

The programme requires an approximate commitment of 6 hours a week to complete the 120 total training hours.

  • Closing date for applicationsUntil 15 May of 2026.
  • Programme duration5 months of total immersion.
  • DatesDel 8 June al 31 October of 2026.
  • ResultUpon completion, you will receive your strategic Business Plan and a certificate of achievement after completing this incubation programme.
